Hola Don Pepito: Un colectivo de cosas cuchis

Anna Grabriella Herrera y Melanie Ng son las creadoras de "Hola Don Pepito": Un colectivo de cosas cuchis hechas a mano, puño y letra, como ellas mismas lo definen. Tiene como misión principal incentivar la creatividad de las personas, hacer que éstas se sientan identificadas y rescatar a ese niño interno que se olvida cuando uno crece.

Hola Don Pepito nace como un hobbie para estas muchachas estudiantes de Artes mención Diseño Gráfico, encariñadas con el proyecto se dan a conocer en  "El Nido Creativo" (un mercado de arte y diseño local). Su nombre particular y bastante atrayente, viene dado por aquella canción infantil, "Es algo pegajoso, algo de la niñez, la gente pregunta ¿ustedes son Hola Don Pepito? y lo cantan o nos responden ¡Hola Don José!", comenta Anna Herrera. 

Sus diseños van dirigidos a todo público, toman inspiración de la vida diaria, de los "héroes urbanos", de cualquier persona, cosa o experiencia que les pase a ellas o a los demás. Tienen en cuenta el hecho de que cada individuo es diferente, sin embargo buscan que todos se sientan identificados de alguna manera con su trabajo. "Somos iguales a ellos, dos muchachas que queremos mostrar lo que hacemos y si les agrada seria muy bueno".

Tienen como meta futura que sus diseños sean publicados por las máximas empresas proveedoras de cuadernos del país como Norma y Caribe. Personalmente, cada una tiene sueños distintos: Melanie quiere ser diseñadora industrial, mientras que Anna le apasionan los libros para niños y quiere trabajar en una editorial. Además juntas quieren montar su propia tiendita "Hola Don Pepito".

Sinopsis 

Año 1927, George Valentin (Jean Dujardin) es un actor famoso de cine mudo, con productores de Hollywood y fanáticos rendidos a sus pies. Sin tener de qué preocuparse conoce a Peppy Miller (Bérénice Bejo), una joven bailarina con carrera en ascenso. El productor Al Zimmer (John Goodman) le advierte que el cine sonoro está por llegar y hay que adaptarse, pero el veterano actor se rehúsa a cambiar.

Mientras poco a poco su carrera se dirige a la cornisa y su vida se desmorona —hasta el divorcio—, su interés por Peppy se hace más profundo. Ella se convierte en estrella en películas sonoras, mientras que él sigue aferrado al cine mudo y a lo poco que le queda: el chofer y el perro —ambos fieles laderos hasta el momento—. Llega la crisis del '30, el crash en Wall Street, y el cine mudo pasa a la historia. ¿Cómo sobrevivir luego de tanta fama, cómo adaptarse a cambios tan profundos y cómo dejar el orgullo de lado?

Esta es otra película que tuve que ver para la universidad. Sé que la mayoría de mis publicaciones en estos momentos refieren a mi carrera, pero es inevitable para mí no mostrarles las magníficas cosas que me mandan a buscar. 

El Artista, de Michel Hazanavicius es una de las mejores películas que he visto, incluso ganó un Oscar a mejor flim. Me encantó que es una producción reciente y que está hecha al más puro estilo del cine antiguo: mudo y blanco y negro. Cuando comencé a verla no sabía que esperar, tampoco tenía idea si me gustaría, sin embargo, me encantó. Me impresionó mucho como los artistas transmiten emociones TAN grandes solo con sus gestos, sin decir ni una palabra. 

Otro aspecto que resalta en el film es la combinación de sentimientos, puedo definir la película como una de romance, comedia, drama y hasta un poco histórica. 

Ver El Artista me impulsó a buscar películas realmente antiguas y a experimentar con esta "nueva" forma de ver cine (nueva para mi) Próximamente les estaré escribiendo sobre mi incursión al cine que mis abuelos solían ver y que en ocasiones extrañan.

This is another movie that had to do for college. I know most of my posts concern right now to my career , but it is inevitable for me not to show the magnificent things the teachers order me to search. 

The Artist, of Michel Hazanavicius is one of the best movies I've seen, even won an Oscar for best flim. I loved that it is a recent production which is made in the style of old movies: silent and black and white. When I started to watch it, I didn't know what to expect , I had no idea if I would like it, however, I loved it. I was very impressed how artists convey giant emotions only with gestures, without saying a word.

.Another aspect that stands out in the film is the combination of feelings, I can define the film as a romance, comedy, drama and even a little history.

Watch The Artist prompted me to look for really old movies and experiment with this "new" way of watching movies ( new to me ) Soon I will be writing about my foray to the movies that my grandparents used to watch and sometimes miss .

Los 7 Hábitos de los Adolescentes Altamente Efectivos

Antes de comenzar con lo que realmente va esta publicación, quiero pedir disculpas por haberme ausentado estas últimas dos semanas.  La universidad me absorbió totalmente y no me dejó tiempo de hacer nada mas que trabajos. Ahora ya estoy un poco más relajada y comenzaré a realizar entradas regularmente. Espero no les haya molestado este inconveniente. No se separen del blog porque viene muchas cosas buenas :) 

"Los 7 Hábitos de los Adolescentes Altamente Efectivos" de Sean Covey es otra de mis "Biblias". Este es uno de los muchos libros que he tenido que leer para la universidad, sinceramente, cuando me dieron el título de esta obra no estaba muy convencida de que me gustaría, sin embargo, cuando empecé a leerla me encantó.

 Básicamente, el texto es como un manual para aprender a vivir la buena vida. Cada uno de los siete capítulos explica un aspecto diferente del día a día, nos enseña a manejar las situaciones para sacar lo mejor de cada una de ellas.  Covey también nos da tips para mejorar las relaciones con nuestro entorno, tanto con la familia, como con los amigos, pareja o simplemente compañeros o personas desconocidas. A esto el lo llama "El banco de las relaciones". Una de las cosas que más me gustan de este libro es la simpleza de su escritura, es bastante digerible, también me agrada el hecho de que comparte muchas anécdotas tanto personales como de otros adolescentes. 

Definitivamente, la forma en la que Sean Covey logró estructurar su trabajo hace que sientas que estás hablando con un amigo cercano. Al final, te des cuenta que la vida es mucho más sencilla de lo que parece, solo tienes que ser pro-activo.

Before I start with what really goes this post, I apologize for having absent these past two weeks. The college was fully absorbed and it did not leave me time to do anything but work. Now I am a little more relaxed and I will start to make entries regularly. I hope you have not being bothered by this inconvenience. Do not leave the blog because many good things will come :)

"The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens" by Sean Covey is another of my "Bibles". This is one of the many books I had to read for college, honestly, when I got the title of this work I was not convinced that I would like it, however, when I started reading it I loved it.

Basically, the text is like a manual to learn how to live the good life. Each of the seven chapters explains a different aspect of everyday life, we are taught to handle situations to make the best of each one. Covey also gives tips to improve relations with our environment, both with family and with friends, or simply colleagues or strangers. He calls this the "relationship bank". One of the things I like about this book is the simplicity of its writing, is quite easy to read, I also like the fact that it shares many anecdotes both personal and other teens.

Definitely, the way Sean Covey managed to structure his work makes you feel like you're talking to a close friend. In the end, you realize that life is much easier than it looks, you just need be proactive.

(Calm my next publication of books is not one of self-help book ;)

Ética para Amador

Solo faltan tres meses para que termine este año, por lo tanto, quiero aprovechar este tiempo para sugerirles los libros que a mi parecer todo el mundo debe leer, ya sea si quieres realizar un nuevo proyecto o simplemente renovar tu vida. Las publicaciones que estaré recomendando durante las siguientes semanas son una lista de mis "Libros de Vida" según los cuales rijo casi todas mis acciones. 

Mi primera sugerencia es una obra escrita por Fernando Savater, y, si no me equivoco, es uno de sus más conocidos trabajos: "Ética para Amador".  Tuve que leerlo hace unas semanas para la universidad, y sinceramente, se convirtió automáticamente en una "biblia" para mí. Me gusta mucho el tono y la forma en la que está escrito. Básicamente, el libro es una carta muy larga para Amador (Su hijo) donde le va explicando de forma muy detallada y comprensible qué es eso de la ética. Es un poco corto y se lee muy rápido. 

Recomiendo este libro a personas que: 1) Quieran empezar un nuevo proyecto y deseen hacerlo de la mejor forma posible; 2) No estén muy seguros de qué es la ética; 3) Curiosos a los que les gusta leer y quieran aprender algo nuevo y muy útil.

Only three months left to finish this year, so I want to take this time to suggest the books that I think everyone should read, whether you want to make a new project or simply renew your life. The publications I will be recommending for the next few weeks are a list of my "Books of Life" by which I rule almost all my actions.


My first suggestion is a play written by Fernando Savater, and if I'm not mistaken, is one of his best known works: "Ethics for Amador". I had to read it a few weeks ago for college, and honestly, automatically became a "bible" for me. I really like the tone and the way it is written. Basically, the book is a long letter for Amador (His son) where he explains in a very detailed and understandable way what is that of ethics. It is a little short and quickly reading.

I recommend this book to people who: 1) Want to start a new project and want to do it the best way possible, 2) Are not quite sure what is ethics, 3) Curious, those who like to read and want to learn something new and very useful.

Boyfriend it!

¡Oh, bendito sean los Boyfriend jeans! 

Hace un tiempo compré estos pantalones por error, estaban en la sección femenina y pensé que, por lo tanto ,eran pantalones de mujer, al llegar a mi casa y verlos bien, comprobé que eran de hombre. Podrán imaginar mi decepción. Enseguida me puse a investigar cómo usarlos y me encontré con la tendencia creciente de los "Boyfriend Jeans". 

El truco está en combinarlos con accesorios como sandalias, tacones y collares. He utilizado este outfit ya un par de veces. Esta forma de usar jeans se ha convertido en mi nueva obsesión y ahora casi nunca me los quito ;)

Oh, God bless Boyfriend jeans!

Some time ago I bought these pants by mistake, they were in the women's section and I thought, therefore they were women pants, when I got to my house and see them well, I found that they were men pants. You can imagine my disappointment. I started researching how to use them to make them look feminine and I found the growing trend of "Boyfriend Jeans".

The trick is to combine them with accessories like sandals, heels and necklaces. I wore this outfit a couple of times. This form of wear jeans has become my new obsession and now I hardly take them off ;)

Al inicio de este semestre, tuve la suerte de encontrarme con esta maravillosa producción. Mi profesora de Cine tiene una forma de evaluar donde nos pauta un filme y tenemos que verlo, analizarlo e investigar sobre él. Amélie fue precisamente nuestra primera película asignada. Enseguida quedé enamorada del magnífico trabajo de Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Me encantó todo: El vestuario, la iluminación, la fotografía, los colores, las personalidades de los personajes, la trama, el sombroso encuadre, en fin, son demasiadas cosas como para nombrarlas todas...

¡Recomiendo ciegamente esta película! Es perfecta para aquellos que, como yo, nos encanta el cine poco convencional. Les aseguro, ver la película Amélie, es comprobar la certeza de su eslogan: "Ella va a cambiar tu vida".

Earlier this semester, I was fortunate to find this wonderful production. My Cinema's teacher has a way of assessing where we schedule a film and we have to watch, analyze and investigate about it. Amélie was just our first movie assignment. Instantly I fell in love with the magnificent work of Jean-Pierre Jeunet. I loved everything: the clothing, lighting, photography, the colors, the personalities of the characters, the plot, the amazing film frame, in order, are too many things to list them all ...

 I Blindly recommend this movie! Perfect for those who, like me, love unconventional movies. I assure you that watch the movie Amélie, is to check the accuracy of their slogan: "She will change your life."

Really Creamy

Todo este año no se ha usado otra cosa más que maxi faldas y yo no soy la excepción, la verdad es que me encantan, no solo por su comodidad, sino también porque son extremadamente versátiles, puedes usarlas para un  domingo casual, ir a la playa y hasta para salir de noche. Este outfit lo utilicé precisamente un domingo para estar con mi familia, quería algo que no se viera simple, así que decidí agregar las sandalias, que la verdad son bastantes extrañas pero le dan ese toque "Hippie- Bohemio" al look.

This whole year the word hasn’t wore anything but maxi skirts and I’m not the exception, the truth is that I love them, not only for comfort, but also because they’re extremely versatile, you can wear them for a casual Sunday, go to the beach and up for a night out. I wore this outfit to spend a Sunday with my family, I wanted something that didn’t look simple, so I decided to add the sandals, that are quite strange but true give a “Hippie-Bohemian” touch to the look.
